RMHF Annual Poster Design Contest

The Rochester Music Hall of Fame has a tradition of letting the community design the poster for our Annual Induction Ceremony. Over the years we’ve had some amazing entries and winners of this contest. Artists get ultimate bragging rights and their artwork is showcased across the city on posters, postcards and other advertisements, on television in interviews and stories, online here on our web site as well as across our social media platforms.

The RMHF Board of Directors reviews the submissions and selects the winners. The winning artists receive cash awards and prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.

The Rochester Music Hall of Fame is now accepting entries for its 2025 Annual Poster Competition. The winning design will be selected by the RMHF Board of Directors and used to promote its Class of 2025 Induction Ceremony scheduled for 7:00pm at the Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre on Sunday, April 13^th, 2025.

• FIRST PLACE winning artist will receive a $300 prize, two tickets to the April event and a special mention in the program
• SECOND PLACE will receive a $200 prize
• THIRD PLACE will receive a $100 prize

All entries must be received by March 29^th, 2025.

1. 1. 1. All applicants must completely fill out and comply with the 2025 RMHF Annual Poster Contest Agreement form. The agreement form is available upon request, via email, at rmhfcompetition@gmail.com.
      2. All entries must be original creations. Suggested themes: Rochester and music in general.
      3. Submissions depicting copyrighted designs, characters or trademarked names or logos will not be accepted.
      4. Artists under the age of 18 must have parental/guardian consent.
      5. Entries must be submitted by March 29^th, 2025.
      6. Submit your entry by sending a photo image jpg. to rmhfcompetition@gmail.com.
      7. The RMHF reserves the right to take additional photographs of the original artwork.
      8. All reproduction and usage rights of the winning entry will belong to the Rochester Music Hall of Fame.
      9. The original artwork will remain the property of the artist.
      10. The RMHF may publicly reveal the identities of the top 3 winning artists and display photographs of them and their art work in conjunction with the announcement of the winners and for promotional purposes.
      11. The top 3 winners may be asked to participate in promotional activities associated with the contest and or induction ceremony.

Technical Details

 The artwork should be created as vector art or a raster image that will equal 150 dpi at 35” x 40 (a smaller version can be used for submission). The original version of the artwork should have graphic elements that are in layers and should be editable to accommodate poster sizes of:

• 18” x 24”
• 11” x 17”
• 8” x 10”

Be mindful that portions of the imagery/artwork will be overwritten with information about the event and inductees’ names, including inductee photos, etc.
